Movie Roundup
Zwartboek
The director of Robocop and Starship Troopers returns home and makes the most expensive Dutch movie to date. It shows the second world war from the Dutch perspective. A young jew woman escapes the war and agrees to inflitrate the Dutch Nazi command on behalf of the Dutch resitance movement. This should have been nominated for the Oscar in 2007, Swedish viewers may note that one of the protagonists bears a striking resemlance to Kapten Stofil.
In Bruges
I was in total despair before seeing this. It has been ages since i saw a good movie, and there seemed to have been not even one interesting release lately! New Indiana Jones?? What more proof do you need that Hollywood is desperate.. So as a complete fresh breath of air i spot In Bruges. Its from Focus Features and like everything else they touch its pure gold. Two professional hitmen are ordered to Bruges to lay low for a while after a job that went wrong in London. Unfortunately they are not really good at laying low, and did their boss really send them all the way to Brügge just to hide? A very strong movie, a must see.
