Just republishing this interesting graph. Even though its nearly a year old it illustrates nicely how different the new media landscape is. Remember, with anti-piracy as an excuse we now have IPRED. , and soon also ACTA. We are also paying extra for USB storage and CD and DVD media, thanks to CopySwede.

And for what?  Well so that artist can get paid of course!

I got into the phonegap beta yesterday, very nifty I must say. You give it your app in javascript/html/css and it builds for you apps for Symbian, iOS, WebOS (Palm) and Blackberry devices. Pretty cool!

Here’s what a finished build looks like, the process took a few minutes for the basic app I tested it with. Looks like webOS needs some special stuff I didn’t bother with and I haven’t signed up with Apple as an iOS developer (The actual sign-up process requires a mac.  Adorable!), so thats why those two failed.

From staying up too late yesterday I can now present you with my first test-run of the system, showing a picasa album on your phone. I found a javascript demo that did what I wanted, messed a little with it and put it on my own subversion server.  Pointed Phonegap to the location of the svn repo and thats all! A few minutes later I had downloads waiting for me.

I now have baby pictures with me wherever I go.
