With L we took a nice day in Stockholm yesterday, weather was great and we had taken the day off for some rest and recreation. One of the highlights was that long time idol Momus was performing in Stockholm. Not only that but it was also made known that he would be acting as an “unreliable tour guide” at the Nobel Museum during the day. Dutifully we arrived at the Nobel museum to be enlightened.
Among other pearls of wisdom we learned that the museum was indeed nothing but a front for the “IKEA awards”. And that Ingvar Kamprad first tried to take over the world with an old method, fascism, but then saw the error of his ways and used a new method instead: infiltration. Alfred Nobels father invented dynamite in order to blow up the shack in the garden were Alfred kept writing his terrible poetry. Madame Curie died of cancer and all of us present would probably start to experience symtoms as well within 30 minutes. and so on and so on..
The Nobel museum was quite a treat in itself, and as its a free entrance i recommend it to anyone that passes thru the Gamla Stan area if you haven’t checked it out before. The current exhibit was about the life and works of the Curie couple, and it was beautifully done. Just the little display with an actual radioactive rock + geigercounter made my heart flutter with excitement (and fear)
A good time were had by all and Momus very generously hung around after his presentation to chat and take pictures. Sadly the concert itself was not due until later in the evening, so being mid-week we went home to Uppsala instead and downed a few beers before heading home.
(But I’m pretty sure it was great)
