What idiots look like

Winter sports

I have been home with Aron now for a few weeks and everything is going well. He has some more teeth, claps his hands together when we sing for him and is generally too cute to describe.

Here we have the little guy testing one of his christmas present - a sled - on the only day so far that had a little snow.100_1364.jpg

And here the daily activities had to end, on the last pics you can see Lego. The cat that knows no fear. The only cat i met that challenges big dogs head on, as well as approaching bicycles.. and approaching cars..  He has expressed interest in Aron before, namely when he is in his tram and his hand is dangling in view of cats on the ground ready to pounce…    Lego always means trouble, so after chasing him around with a stick we decided to call it a day.

New Line Cinema: The Hobbit

Just in time for Christmas this wonderful piece of news arrives: New Line Cinema and Peter Jackson will indeed produce movies on the Tolkien book The Hobbit. Not only one movie but two! It will be pretty exciting to see what they can come up with to fill two movies.

Growing up The Hobbit was one of my favourite childrens books, and its very exciting to see it being presented on the big screen.  Below you find an earlier version of Bilbo.

Here it comes

I don´t care if you call me Maud Flanders. Will somebody please think of the children?

Since the last time

As the astute reader can observe I made a drastic layout change to the blog. Minimal and stylish are the rules I live by now. Hope ydu like it! Note that if there are any images in the post you need to open the actual post to see them (clllck on the headlne..)

So what is new? Aron turned 6 months last week! And he also got his first little tooth. A tiny white grain is visible, and he is drooling and biting on things with a little extra energy now to celebrate the occatlon. We are working on giving him some routines for sleeping and he is taking it like a champion

I also abandoned my swedish pride this week. After using the top-of-the-line SonyEricsson mobile phones for years i got the cheapest Nokia ever the Nokia 1112. and suddenly I am enjoying what others take for granted in a mobile phone,battery-life, a phone that doesn´t crash every day. Totally amazing.. the price was 43 Euro.

So what else? The cat dragged in a mouse last wednesday and staged her usual “house of horrors” routine for it. She has her own little cat-entrance so she can come and go as she wishes in our apartment. Since she knows how the entrance works it is a common tactic for her to bring live little animals into our home, and let them loose. That way she can hunt and have fun, knowing that her prey has no chance at all to escape: they dont know how the exit works.. It was a real Kodak moment when the mouse was sitting at the feet of our cat, looking around and trying to think of what to do next, while our cat was calmly sitting by and waiting for the mouse to make its next move. There is a little killer in our home!

Other points of interests briefly:

Aron and Lina flew to visit family in the northern parts of sweden last weekend. The same day they came home SAS grounded their entire fleet of Dash-planes due to construction errors, guess what model the plane carrying my wife and child back was!

I have been working a lot on my genealogical pages lately, thanks to Rodrigo Gumucio in Cochabamba and Mauricio Pilleux Cepeda of www.genealog.cl. A dedicated post about that is coming!

Meanwhile

This weekend we baptised our son Aron. It was a really great family reunion and I have some great pics to share, but first: something completely different.

Facebook

The happy man you see in the picture is Mark Zuckerberg. And thanks to him I am spending too much of my wake time checking on what my friends are doing, sharing photos and generally socializing. If you are not a member already I really urge you to sign up, and look me up while you are there.

Really good mobile interface too and the potential for app devels to join in on the fun and develop plugins makes this a winner.
