Weekend

Somehow summer is upon us. It should not be a big surprise considering that the calendar has been advancing as usual since the birth of Aron but still… It is like someone turned down the volume on the world Nothing has really changed but suddenly everything became less important and things that really used to stress me out now dont bother me at all
The reason is of course little Aron. As l write.this he is having severe stomach problems and is crying frum the pain, they say it goes away after three months but we hope for our sanitys sake that it will be sooner. Besides his belly-aches he is doing great. Growing as he should and also starting to notice his surroondings.
The look on his face, one o sheer amazement, as he looks closely up on you, is something l wish everyone gets to experience in life. Really wonderful.

This weekend was a packed one: It takes a long time now to do anything, we typically get up at 7am but never make it out the door before noon.. This very social weekend we spent witn friends and family. Showing litte Aron to two different groups of people on saturday and three on sunday.
l also got some java programming done. (Check out http://turin.chlckenkiller.com/midp if you have a java-enabled cellphone) and checked out the swedish institutes mucn-hyped presence in Second Life. Very nice indeed, the replika of Raoul wallenbergs office complete with audioguide was very impressive

I got to sign some Enter CDs today too. lt looks like there is an enter revival going on.. one kid mailed us wondering when the next demo is coming He had been cnecking the band websites for updates for 6 years! Hang in there kid! “Shaggy Road” will be well wortn the wait. And we already have the album cover…

That is enough jibbering for now. Coming Soon: pictures of Aron taking his first bath!

Movie roundup

So we have now been married a month, and its still great. L is still in good health and everything is looking good.
Right now the biggest question is what kind of baby-tram should we go for? Its a decision you have to live with for about three years so it is proving to be quite a challenge!

We have seen a lot of movies recently. The final weeks before a baby comes are finding us lusting for activities away from our home. Pretty soon we wont be able to leave the home much anyway so we take any chances we get right now.

Here are some quick reviews:

Thank you for smokingThank you for smoking

So all your life you have heard that smoking is bad for you right? Well when someone tells you something like that it is your right to say, says who? Maybe its time to stop acting like sheep about these things, why not try it yourself? Welcome to the world of the tobacco lobbyist, the man whose job it is to keep the profits of Big Tobacco as big as possible. Very entertaining to watch,

Last king of Scotland
Starts great, young doctor wants to escape from his parents and ends up in Idi Amins Uganda. Actually painful how little violence it is in it. It becomes so obvious how the main character is cut off from the reality of things. Very well deserved Oscar for Best Actor.

Letters from lwo Jima.
I’m glad l saw this movie. With a very steady hand Eastwood shows us the Japanese side of things during the last battles in the South Pacific. Despite it being an interesting story and cast with excellent actors .We must point out some flaws, The pace in incredibly low and its too long. Not recommended for the impatient, but rewarding it its own ways. The first image depicts the leader of Iwo Jimas defense: General Kuribayashi as he looked in the movie, the second image is what he looked like in real life.

The thin red line
We did it again! Unexpectedly we managed to see two movies in a row about the same historical occurrence. Just as Iwo Jima, this movie tells the tale of the WW2 USA offensive in the South Pacific. Only here its the island of Guadalcanal instead of Iwo Jima. But the story is the same. US Troops arrive to battle the hopeless remainders of the Japanese army. So how can you manage to make a movie like that boring? We rented this because we could not remember seeing it. It soon became clear why.. avoid! Unless you have trouble sleeping or want your guests to die of boredom We could not even finish it.
