Weekend

Another weekend has past and quickly it went too. Friday evening i was so tired that when put Aron to sleep at 8pm I fell asleep with him, using one of his plush bears as a pillow. Lina had the courtesy of waking me up some half-hour later, but it was too late. I fell asleep on the sofa instead and slept there until it was time for bed.

On saturday we took a little drive in the new car to check a local happening: the releasing of the cows into the summer pastures. This was new to us, we saw the poster at the grocery store and thought we would use the nice weather. We had no idea that around 2000 other people were coming as well! It was a great happening that offered lots of kids, lots of friends we knew that were there with their kids, ecological and I’m guessing very locally produced hamburgers (extremely popular), farming machinery and happy cows! A total hit with Aron as you can imagine. Gabriel took some greats pics of cows playing let’s see if he puts them up.

Sunday was rehearsal and social event with bar-b-q. My not-quite-dead-yet barbershop quartet. Good rehearsal, the first one in ages, and nice picnic afterwards during which Aron behaved himself very well with his fellow bar-b-q baby Tage.

Pollen is bad, really bad, but I have a lead on a new medicine that might help. Doctors appointment is  on wednesday.. please work .. please!

Aron 2 years old

It is very hard to believe, but two years have past since little Aron came to us. In one way the time has gone by so very quickly, and in another it is hard to even imagine what your life was like without him. So radical is the change in a parents heart that life without your kid turns into a faded memory.

With cake and champagne (for the older children..), we took up a little table in the sun where the kids could run freely and the grownups talk more or less calmly. Many friends and family joined us and Aron could well have been entirely without toys before this party, since there was a veritable flood of trinkets, toys, and adorable books for him. Extra fun was also the presence of the many other kids. Aron is a bit rough now, never late to push och pinch people of his own size, but the party managed to pass without great incidents.

Thanks to all of you who were there and made our evening a great one. Aron got so many impressions that it was very hard for him to go to sleep.

Glasar

Its a big day today. Yesterday Aron lost the last one of his left contact lenses. Its has been a morning routine since he was very small to wrestle him down and put in or take out the contacts. Up until this week he really disliked the procedure, but this week he actually let us do it himself! Its a very big step, since now that he is talking more and more, that kind of morning trauma isn’t the best way to start your day. So anyway, yesterday he lost the last one of his contacts. This is always a problem, since he is not supposed to be without them or his vision changes for the worst. We had no option but to ship him to daycare without contacts and with his pair of glasses instead.

Imagine my surprise when the following little guy comes to meet me at daycare when its time to pick him up!

He had been using his glasses for the whole day without any problems. Its the first day of his life with glasses, and its a great day.

Aron plays piano

It has been way too long since I posted updated pictures of Aron. Here we see him playing the piano and singing at his grandmothers house. He is very talkative and can now differenciate between a car, a bus, an ambulance and a truck. You might say his special interest is cars, very noticeable at his recent eye exam, in which he scored a much higher scores when trying to find cars compared to any other objects.

This is our last week in Fålhagen by the way, next week we will be moving to a bigger apartment a bit out from the central parts of town. The only bad thing about the move is that kids daycare does not move so easily. Its going to be interesting to cart him across town in the mornings..
